Some causes can include depression, heavy alcohol consumption, certain medications, stress, anxiety, significant weight gain and even overall health or lifestyle issues.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"font-uppercase uk-margin-small\">Risk factors<\/h3>\n<p>Were you aware that diabetes and high blood pressure can be linked to erectile dysfunction? Many lifestyle factors and health problems could be the cause for ED. It is important to understand the connection as managing diabetes, blood pressure and weight might also save your life.<\/p>\n<p>Erectile difficulties can be an early warning sign of more serious health problems, such as heart disease and diabetes. Before ordering any tests, your doctor will review your medical history and perform a physical exam.<\/p>\n<p>After your exam and interview, your doctor may order a variety of different tests to check things like your blood count, blood sugar, liver and kidney function and more.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"font-uppercase uk-margin-small\">Diagnosis<\/h3>\n<p>Your ED might be caused by a temporary problem, like stress, fatigue or rapid weight gain. You should visit your doctor to get a clear diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>Your doctor may ask you to make some adjustments to your life, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exercise regularly<\/li>\n<li>Losing weight<\/li>\n<li>Eating a healthy diet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"font-uppercase uk-margin-small\">Treatment and drugs<\/h3>\n<p>The most common treatment for ED is medication; however that is not always the best option for everyone.
