class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On <strong>7 February 1980<\/strong>, we successfully performed a non-invasive kidney stone treatment on a human patient, for the first time ever. Our invention of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) marked a new era in stone treatment, and has changed the lives of more than 50 million patients globally.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we continue to innovate and develop new ways to better support kidney stone patients. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/worstpainever\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Worst Pain Ever<\/a><span style=\"color: rgb(77, 81, 86); font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">\u00ae<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 0.9375em;\">\u201d, our patient outreach initiative, was borne out of this endeavour. With more than <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 0.9375em;\">45&nbsp;million patient and caregiver visits<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 0.9375em;\"> to date, \u201cWorst Pain Ever\u201d is the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 0.9375em;\">world\u2019s largest online kidney stone patient community<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 0.9375em;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In celebration of <strong>World Kidney Stone Day 2022<\/strong>, we reached out to patients in our community, to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences. Our survey received more than 1,000 responses, and we are excited to share our findings in the <strong>2022 Global Urology Survey<\/strong>
