Dornier MedTech to unveil innovative medical device during the 55th annual Kongress der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Urologie
WESSLING, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 3, 2003 - Dornier MedTech, a global leader in the medical equipment industry and the pioneer of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), will launch an innovative new product on September 25 during the 55th annual Kongress der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Urologie in Hamburg, Germany.
On hand for the unveiling will be Dr. Wolfgang Hepp, a long-time Dornier member and one of the pioneers of ESWL. Joining him will be Professor Ferdinand Eisenberger, chair of urology at the St. Katharinen Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany. Prof. Eisenberger was the clinical partner of Dr. Hepp developing ESWL from 1972 to 1979. He conducted the first in vitro and in vivo studies, proving the validity of the revolutionary new technique. He established the leading stone center after becoming chair of Urology in Stuttgart.
