Dornier MedTech Announces New Generation Nd:YAG Laser
Wessling, Germany, September 18, 2006 - Dornier MedTech today announced a new generation Nd: Yag laser, the Fibertom 8100. Based on its long legacy of Nd: Yag lasers, this new device offers 100 watts of power and is compatible with special adapters to support a variety of clinical applications. Unique to this type of device are special safety and control technologies including the proprietary Lightguide Protection System (LPS) which disables the laser in the event of excessive heat at the fiber tip. In addition, the system supports a special fibertom™ mode that keeps the tip temperature constant by automatically controlling the laser output power. The Fibertom 8100 also features a high-resolution touch sensitive color display that is simple to use and allows quick and easy adjustments to all treatment parameters. Treatment set-up is quick and easy using the predefined hot keys.
“We’re proud to continue the development of the Fibertom family of lasers. Our customers have come to expect exceptional quality and performance from our devices. We believe they’ll be very satisfied with the Fibertom 8100 especially appreciating the proprietary LPS and fibertom mode technologies that increase the user’s ability to monitor and regulate the application of energy” commented Michael Lerch, General Manager of Dornier MedTech Europe.
