Dornier MedTech introduces the new Medilas D MultiBeam Laser
Wessling, Germany, August 28, 2006 – Dornier MedTech introduces the new Medilas D MultiBeam to their laser product line.
The Medilas D MultiBeam is the latest development utilizing Dornier’s proven diode technology. This system combines a 940nm wavelength with an advanced user interface and new ergonomic design making it ideal for the clinical setting. The 60 watt laser can be used for a variety of surgical applications including endovenous laser ablation and ENT using thin, flexible fibers.
The laser is equipped with enhanced safety features including a proprietary Lightguide Protection System (LPS) that automatically disables the laser if excessive heat is detected at the tip. This feature helps protect the fiber and reduces the risk of tissue damage. The system also offers a special proprietary fibertom cutting mode that ensures even cutting during surgical procedures by controlling the temperature of the fiber tip within set limits.
The ergonomic design of the Medilas D MultiBeam is ideal for quick treatment set-up and features a high-resolution touch sensitive color display with intuitive user interface. Treatment parameters can be easily adjusted or use one of the pre-defined hot keys for a specific application.
“We are pleased to offer the MultiBeam laser and believe that the advanced design and enhanced safety features will promote effective treatments for a variety of procedures,” remarked Michael Lerch, General Manager of Dornier MedTech Europe.
