Dornier UroBeam "Live" Surgery Workshop

This year, we take great pleasure in having with us Dr. Bayer Thomas, Assistant Director, Kemptem Hospital in Federal Republic of Germany to conduct a live surgery workshop in Singapore demonstrating a high power laser for treating Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) with minimal invasiveness treatment. Dr. Bayer has the experience on laser vaporization of prostate tissue using Dornier Medilas D UroBeam.
This well received workshop was attended by a group of urologist doctors in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand as well as our partners in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The workshop was jointly organized by Dornier MedTech Asia and the Department of Urology, Singapore General Hospital.


9th Asian Congress of Urology 2008
New Delhi, 2nd-5th October 2008
The 9th Asian Congress of Urology of the Urological Association of Asian, organized by the Urological Society of India at New Delhi from 2-5 October, 2008 and Pre-Congress Live Operative Workshop at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on 1st October, 2008. With over 1300 delegates from 50 nations, experts from around the world, came together to exchange ideas with “Minimally Invasive Urology” as the theme.
One of our key luminary doctors, Dr. Geert G. Tailly, presented two posters on “Twenty years of ESWL in a single center: a retrospective evaluation of 3079 patients” and “Regimens of IV analgosedation in outpatient ESWL”. Professor Sekine Hideaki, another of our invited doctors conducted a well-received plenary session on “Outpatient ESWL for ureteral stones with third generation lithotripter”.

HospiMedica Asia 2008
Suntec Singapore, 17 – 19 September 2008
Dornier MedTech Asia participated in the HospiMedica Asia 2008 in Singapore, a regional medical & healthcare exhibition for hospitals covering diagnostics, pharmaceutical, medical & rehabilitation equipment & supplies. A total of 370 companies from various regions worldwide participated in this show, with an estimated attendance by about 6,000 visitors from mainly ASEAN countries.

A group of 30 invited guests from our associated companies, business partners and customers, visited the Dornier booth on 17th September 2008. Dr. Patrick Goh, our key luminary in ESWT from SportsMed Central demonstrated the treatment of wide variety of muscular and skeletal indications using the Dornier EPOS Ultra and AR2.

Dornier MedTech took this opportunity to showcase our state-of-the-art medical devices to our business partners and customers and enhance our brand equity to the healthcare community in the ASEAN countries.
Inauguration of Stone Center at Clinique Souissi, Morocco
Dornier MedTech Europe successfully installed three lithotripsy systems in Morocco in Winter 2007/2008. Inauguration of a new Urology workstation, combining a Dornier Compact Sigma lithotriptor with a Dornier Medilas H20 holmium laser, took place on January 30, 2008 at the Clinique Souissi in Rabat, Morocco. With the participation of key Urologists of Morocco, stone treatments and orthopaedic procedures were performed successfully. Professor Tazi expressed his delight about the cooperation with Dornier MedTech Europe concerning the advancement of Morocco’s treatment capabilities in Urology. He also pointed out the expertise and the excellent training for physicians and staff, performed by Klaus Streich, application engineer of Dornier MedTech Europe.

Michael Lerch, General Manager of Dornier MedTech Europe, highlighted Dornier´s first priority of applying its expertise in Urology to provide for patient oriented, innovative treatment concepts. The combination of different treatment modalities enable the treating physicians to improve their patients´ quality of life. |
