Compact Sigma - Description

The Compact Sigma is a modular lithotripter combining proven Dornier Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy

(ESWL) with a multi-functional patient table and X-ray C-arm to create the complete solution for lithotripsy and endourological procedures. When combined with other items such as ultrasound, lasers, scopes, etc… the Compact Sigma becomes a complete multifunctional workstation. Using proven Dornier Electromagnetic Shock Wave Emitter (EMSE) technology, the Compact Sigma delivers consistent, reliable energy. With high penetration depth and a wide dynamic range the EMSE is ideal for a spectrum of applications.

C-arm interface to the Compact Sigma is secured through mechanical coupling and laser guided alignment. This ensures focal zone accuracy and stone localization.

Imaging flexibility is obtained through X-ray or optional isocentric ultrasound. The C-arm rotates allowing visualization of stones from various positions. The optional isocentric ultrasound uses a patented localization arm making ultrasound targeting quick and easy.

Flexible Therapy Head

The flexible therapy head introduces shock waves from different orientations allowing all treatments to be conducted with patients positioned comfortably on their backs, a unique feature of Dornier's Compact line of lithotripters.

Isocentric Design

The isocentric design allows both the shock wave and the imaging system to revolve around a single point. This ensures precise alignment of the targeting system and the shockwave focus at all times.

Treatment Flexibility

The versatile, modular design makes the Compact Sigma the optimal solution for all areas of urological diagnosis and therapy, including lithotripsy, endourology, percutaneous procedures and diagnostic X-ray. The combination of the C-arm, the fully motorized Relax+ patient table and variety of accessories make this the perfect multi-functional system.
