Dornier MedTech and B-K Medical form global partnership – Dornier to use B-K’s ultrasound equipment
ATLANTA, GA – MAY 20, 2002 – Dornier MedTech, the inventor of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), has announced that it will use B-K Medical’s ultrasound equipment with its medical products.
Dornier MedTech has the largest installed base of lithotripters worldwide, and B-K Medical, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Analogic Corp. (NASDAQ: ALOG), is a leading developer and manufacturer of specialized diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
"This synergistic relationship with B-K Medical gives Dornier MedTech the unique ability to enhance its product portfolio for customers worldwide," says Brian Walsh, general manager at Dornier MedTech America. "We’re pleased to be teaming up with another world leader in the field of urology."
"It’s certainly advantageous that two pioneering and innovative medical enterprises like Dornier and B-K can join forces and combine their high quality products and customer solutions," says Rene_ Barington, managing director at B-K Medical. "This is definitely a win-win situation for both the customer and the patient, and it furthers our commitment to total client satisfaction."
Superior ultrasound imaging is vital for many of Dornier’s products, helping to accurately target treatment areas and monitor therapeutic results. In January of this year, Dornier received FDA approval for its Epos Ultra orthopedic shock wave device for the treatment of plantar fasciitis. The Epos Ultra is the only machine on the market to include ultrasound guidance.
